George Thomas Anderson

Writer / Musician / Artist
/ Husband / Cook / Garbage Boy

George Thomas Anderson is a writer who lives and works in the Rust Belt. His fiction and essays have appeared in PANK (forthcoming), Maudlin House, The Curator, The Other Journal, and Bedlam Magazine. He has written longform fiction since childhood, largely in secret.

George holds a Bachelor’s in Music, concentration in Composition, from Kent State University (graduation summa cum laude, 2010). Though he is beginning to see success as a writer, music retains a special place in his life. He continues to release avant-garde noise pop under the name The Victorious Airborne. From 2010 to 2013, he toured with the art-rock quartet Albatross (later renamed Kairos House), in which he contributed creatively to two albums as a melodic bassist and composer. His work on bass guitar is often compared to that of Chris Squire (Yes). His own work often features mournful guitars, ambiguous tonality, and static harmonies.

George works as the head writer and managing editor at 216digital, Inc., a Cleveland-area digital marketing and web development company. He oversees an editorial calendar serving many clients’ content marketing efforts, and he is also responsible for the company’s blog. He has found his immersion in marketing invaluable to his career in literature, while the sharpening which literary editors have provided him also informs his professional writing in content marketing.

George is happily married to the love of his life. Husband and wife talk about everything, from Proust to poop jokes. They drive old cars and leave Christmas lights up all year.
